WELLAND’S WINNING WAYS
2008 National Enterprise Awards winners
Dedicated recognition for the Enterprise Agency network – with support from ICONI Software and Barclays Bank
The National Federation of Enterprise Agencies (NFEA) recently announced the winners of the annual National Enterprise Awards during a gala dinner at The Royal York Hotel in York.
The National Enterprise Award for “Unsung Hero” went to David Moore, Finance Manager at Welland Enterprise Agency, Stoke Rochford, near Grantham. During difficult times for the agency in 2007, David’s extra efforts in helping to re-engineer the business ensured not only financial security but assured the agency’s credible standing amongst key funders and stakeholders. During these testing times, David was diagnosed with a serious illness, but despite this, he has continued his professional efforts, remaining positive and making a great contribution to the team.

George Derbyshire, CEO at NFEA congratulated David, saying: "Organisations are only as good as their people, and the NFEA National Enterprise Award to David Moore of Welland Enterprise Agency is not only a testimony to David’s own outstanding commitment and professionalism over many years as a business adviser, but also to the very positive approach of Welland Enterprise and its contribution to the local economy. Congratulations to both.”
David Moore lives in Waltham-on-the-Wold with his wife Elaine and has worked with Welland Enterprise Agency for the past 4 years.
Welland Enterprise Agency is also proud to have been a finalist in the NFEA award for Rural Enterprise Agency of the Year.
It has been a time for celebration all round at Welland Enterprise Agency as not only have they been recognised within their specific field but they have also just achieved Customer First accreditation. Putting the Customer First ® is the National Standard for Customer Service and something which the agency has achieved through an understanding of, and dedication, to their company’s core values.
Emma Chapman, CEO at Welland Enterprise Agency, had this to say about the accreditation: ‘Achieving Customer First has been a fantastic achievement and is recognition of the excellent team work and customer focused culture we have at Welland Enterprise Agency. By attaining this standard we are sending out a strong message to our clients, partners and funders that we focus on their needs and deliver services that make a real difference’
